FROM THE DOM

The purpose of the Mallary Baptist Association is to equip churches to make disciples

We want to welcome Doug Gibson as Interim Pastor of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Our association has been blessed and continues to be blessed with excellent interim pastors who serve our churches at a critical time of transition. Thank you Lord for all of those serving as interim pastors! We now have eleven churches in our association without pastors! Please keep praying for our churches without pastors (see list in the Prayer Update).

Mallary Baptist Association churches have for quite a number of years participated in Prayer Walking our schools the day before the See You at the Pole Rallies. Please don’t forget to mobilize the members of your churches again to Prayer Walk our schools on September 20. The suggested time is 7 PM, but prayer walk whenever you can. Please designate someone to get a count of how many participated and the name of the schools and call the office to give us the name of the church, how many participated and the name of the school(s). Thanks for your continued faithfulness to pray for our schools. It is making a difference!!!!

October 26-31 are the days for our ministries at the Exchange Club Fair. We will again provide free dental and medical care for the fair workers (October 26-29). We are working on purchasing a mobile office for us to continue to use for the doctor and nurses. We also provide the MBA Shower Trailer for use by those staying in the Fairgrounds RV Park. We are hoping to also provide free haircuts for the fair workers. Every night and Saturday and Sunday afternoon, we will provide free Christian entertainment at the beginning of the midway. We also hope to again provide a free meal for the fair workers on Monday. We need volunteers for helping with registration at our dental and medical ministries, volunteers to help set up the mobile office and shower unit, to help clean-up the building for the entertainment and Baby Care Area, and to help pass out Gospel tracts during the entertainment times. If you would like to be “On Mission with God” in this setting as we reach out to fair workers and others who attend the fair, please call the office.

Please make sure that you church has agreed to transfer your Sunday night service on October 3 to First Baptist Church Albany for the 6 PM Joint Worship Service with Manley Beasley, Jr. ministering to us. There will be a combined choir and other special music. Please make your plans now and be praying for all of the events with Manley Beasley September 30-October 3 (see back of Prayer Update for more information).

I want to encourage you to attend the Speechless Prayer Conference at Norman Park September 27-28. Our Prayer and Discipleship Teams are encouraging all of us to participate in this annual event. This year is it close to us! Martha and I will be participating; please join us. See GBC website for more details www.gabaptist.org.
