Congratulations to the following churches!  The info below is based on ACP and GBC statistics for the 2009-2010 church year.

Sherwood Baptist Church for the largest number of baptisms in the Association (142)

Union Baptist Church for the best ratio of baptisms to resident members in the Association (1:6)

Sherwood Baptist Church for largest contributor through the Cooperative Program in the Association
($137,024)

Poulan Baptist Church for largest percentage contribution through the Cooperative Program in the
Association (15%)

First Baptist Church Sylvester for the leading contributor per resident member through the Cooperative
Program ($157.15 per res mem)

Sherwood Baptist Church ranked 13th in the top 100 list of mega sized churches in the GBC in Sunday
School growth between the years of 2007-2010.

Gillionville Baptist Church ranked 20th in Median Sized Churches (250-499 average worship attendance)
in baptisms

Sherwood Baptist Church ranked 21st in Large Churches (500 plus average worship attendance) in
baptisms

Praise the Lord for all that these and the rest of our churches in the association do to advance God’s Kingdom by their evangelistic efforts locally (as well as worldwide), giving through the Cooperative Program to reach a world for Christ and supporting over 10,000 missionaries, and making Sunday School a priority for growth in the church.

Please make sure that your church has signed up for the On Mission Celebration  March 17-18, 2012.  We have a goal of at least 12 churches (as that will be the number of missionaries—6 IMB, 3 NAMB, 3 GBC).  We currently have nine churches committed: Antioch, FBC Leesburg, Isabella, Kinchafoonnee, Lakeside, Pine Forest, Pine Hill, and Thundering Springs. Each church will have two missionary speakers for the Sunday (18th) morning and Sunday evening services (1 IMB and either a NAMB or GBC ).  There will be a Missions Fair on Saturday (17th) at 2 PM and a Missions Banquet (6 PM) at FBC Leesburg.  If we have more than 12 churches to sign up, we will encourage the additional ones to join with a sister church.  Each church will provide the lodging, meals, and transportation for one missionary (or share these responsibilities if joining together). Please don’t miss this opportunity to hear what God is doing through your missionaries!

We are approaching a critical point for our Mission Trips: July 2-9, 2011 to New York City and July 23-30, 2011 to Mexico.  See the advertisement elsewhere in this newsletter. I hope that you will join us to be on mission in our “Samaria” and “the uttermost!”

Thank you to all those churches who continue to faithfully support the Mallary Baptist Association by giving regularly.  Also praise God for the churches that have already responded to the request to give toward us having a part-time Campus Minister for Darton College.  We hope this will be the start of having a full-time Campus Minister in the future to serve all three of the colleges/universities here (over 12,000 students!). We hope that we will have the $9,000 for this position in a short time so that we can employ someone by the start of school in the Fall.
