Praise God for the ministry that Manley Beasley, Jr. had among us September 22-25. God did a fresh work in many of our lives. We had nine of our pastors to attend at least one of the sessions for pastors and others. The attendance was as follows: 1st session (20), 2nd session (20), 3rd session (20), 4th session (11). The attendance at the Joint Worship Service was approximately 600 and we must have had at least half of our churches represented. We are so grateful for the ministry of Manley; he has a heart to experience real revival and spiritual awakening. He also blessed three of our churches by preaching in their services: Bryant Drive, Sherwood, and Calvary while he was here. Wasn’t the Combined Choir fantastic? Jimmie Nettles did an outstanding job leading them! Special thanks also to First Baptist Church Albany for hosting the Joint Worship Service. They did an outstanding job again! Thanks for all of you who attended!
The love offering taken at the service for Manley was $1,591.80 and we were also able to give him an honorarium from our budget. We have audio CD from all four sessions and video DVD of sessions three and four available for duplication. Let me know if you want any of these.
The 128th Annual Meeting of the Mallary Baptist Association is now history, but the impact can still be felt! We had 118 messengers register from 33 churches and an additional 28 guests to register. Jim Eure (Pine Forest) was elected as our new moderator, Charlie Brown (Unity) was reelected as Associate Moderator, and, of course, Alisa Hamilton (Bethel) was reelected as Clerk/Treasurer. The Budget for 2012 of $178,248 was approved and an almost complete slate of volunteers for our organization leaders and teams was approved. $582.38 was given through our offering for World Hunger! The fellowship was great, the food outstanding, the music uplifting, and the preaching powerful! Thanks to First Baptist Sylvester, their staff and volunteers, who hosted us so wonderfully! Thanks also to those who led us in worship through music! God really spoke through Mike Stone (Pastor, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Blackshear) in the evening session! I had heard Mike before, but not like this! He was used mightily of the Lord to challenge us in the area of real revival based on 2 Samuel 6. God is continuing to emphasize to us that our only hope is putting Him first and being the church God wants! Lord revive us again!!!
Please be much in prayer for our ministries at the Exchange Club Fair November 1-6. In case you do not know what these ministries are, let me list them: provide free medical and dental care (local dental and medical people volunteer their time) for the Fair workers, free haircuts, free health kits for all patients, a free meal on Monday, free Christian entertainment on the midway each night and Saturday afternoon, and a child care area. I hope you are rejoicing with me in what God has led us as an association to do to share Jesus with the Fair workers and those attending the Fair. We could still use volunteers. Call the office if interested. This is a great local evangelistic/mission outreach! Thank you for praying!
I am convinced that God is working in our association because we have been faithful to pray and seek Him. We still meet monthly the third Monday of each month to pray together. Has God given you a burden to pray for personal and corporate revival? Please join us each third Monday! |
