We want to welcome Breakaway Community Church (Leesburg) into the fellowship of our association under the “conditional” provision of our By-laws. Thursday, January 19, the Executive Committee unanimously welcomed this church into our fellowship. This church will be voted on at our Annual Meeting for full membership in the association per our By-laws. Scott Tomlinson is Associate Pastor and they issued a call on January 22 to Jay Barcus as pastor. Congratulations to Jay and to the church! We are happy to welcome them!
Twenty-seven from 14 churches attended this Executive Committee meeting. We also heard reports from the Administrative Team, Discipleship Team, Evangelism/Missions Team, Prayer Team, and WMU. We also reviewed the December and yearend financial reports. Praise the Lord we ended the year with all bills paid and $25 left in checking! We did not meet budget for the year in contributions and spent more than the contributions. Again praise the Lord that we had put aside contingency funds from our previous good years to take care of the deficits.
I want to thank all of the 45 churches (out of 50) who contributed faithfully last year. Thank you to those who have increased their giving for this year. It is your faithfulness in giving that we can support our local mission endeavors (Coon Hunt, Fair Ministries, Hispanic ministry, and Vietnamese ministry), support church planting in New York, support church planting at Km 80 in Mexico as well as support a DOM and Ministry Assistant. Praise the Lord for your willingness to support associational missions! We should be in better shape this year due to the decrease in budget. Thank you again for your continued giving!!

- Provides Pastor Search Training for Pastor Search Teams/Committees
- Provides a forum for concerns of belief and practice
- Encourages evangelism/missions in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost
It is your association! The first association in America was formed in Philadelphia in 1707. The Baptist Association was the first Baptist body outside the local church! There are now over 1,200 Southern Baptist Associations in America. Mallary Baptist Association has been in existence since 1883. Seven churches were charter members. We now have 50 churches and missions! Is it worthwhile to be a part of an association? The answer is a wholehearted YES!
